Czech Ministry Puts Security First with MyQ
Problem
The Czech Republic Ministry of Interior (MOI) is a state institution with printed materials that are often strictly confidential, with a high mobility of users between individual workplaces. This means increased demands on security. MyQ’s initial analysis focused on the two headquarters of the Ministry in Prague. After a successful implementation in Prague, the Ministry decided to extend the order to other organizations, such as the Police of the Czech Republic and the Integrated Rescue System of CR.
Solution
MyQ Free Analysis found that in two buildings of the MOI, as many as 2,900 printers and 300 multifunction printers (MFPs) of various brands were used for printing small volumes. The current status has been reduced to 1,000 printers and only one MFP per floor. Technical equipment was selected from Kyocera and Ricoh, all equipped with MyQ Solution. A transparent and simple way of accounting was chosen – pay per click (the “all-in” model).
Benefits
By installing the MyQ Print Management and Service Modules, both buildings of the MOI have been provided with security, transparency, and printer monitoring. This means that users and IT specialists have complete availability of all devices and more time for important tasks. Operation as never been easier thanks to the personalized interface (UI) of the MyQ embedded terminal. The financial benefit was estimated at over €250,000, and the robust project is still ongoing.
“The implementation of printers and multifunction devices with MyQ software has brought to the offices of the ministry and other organizations primarily security when working with documents and data. With intuitive controls, users are calm, executives have a smart monitoring system, significantly reducing operating costs.”
