A Quickie with the MyQ Expert | Episode 19: Remote Printing

Remote hybrid workplaces are on the rise and so is the demand to print outside of one's traditional office. In this episode, the nomadic MyQ Expert Rami travels around the town to get some footage of his smooth remote printing journey with MyQ X. With the MyQ Desktop Client on your PC, printing from remote locations or places with a weaker connection to the server is no longer an issue. MDC can work as a limited substitution for the print server and it can get your docs printed including other advanced functions such as fallback print.
Hi there, I'm Rami, your MyQ Expert. With the release of MyQ X 8.2, we were able to give you some really nice goodies. Let's have a good look at one of the major release points, which was the MyQ Desktop Client. This video will help show how MyQ can fare off in the hybrid workplace revolution, where people have to go into various different environments to work which are not always the best equipped, such as having a weak internet connection.
Some of the main circumstances, where this feature is useful, is home usage and in areas where there is limited server connectivity. Or for remote workers that have to change around their location all the time.
With this app, all you need is a PC and something that can print, copy, or scan in your network. The key cornerstone of the MyQ Desktop Clients that it can substitute for most of print server functions. This is all possible because the MDC only shares metadata which takes only kilobytes of memory with the print server. Some functions include fallback printing, print device monitoring, and project management as mentioned earlier. But there are also new features regarding those, such as group and cost center accounting. This is done by an integrated job parser to analyze print jobs before they are printed. For example, their page count, whether they’re simplex or duplex, color or mono to account for reporting. Overall, the main message that you should take from this is: Near or far, in your room or on a star, MyQ's with you, wherever you are.
